Luxe Interiors + Design Spring 2012 Cover

April 15th, 2012 § 0 comments § permalink

The Spring 2012 Pacific Northwest edition of Luxe Interiors + Design Magazine is on newsstands now and features a lovely project on Lake Washington I photographed for Castanes Architects and NB Design Group. In addition to the 10 page spread, Luxe also ended up using one of my exterior images of the project for the cover of the magazine.

Donna Livingston on Kalef Alaton’s Influence

Donna Livingston used some of my images in her great blog post about the timelessness of Kalef Alaton’s interiors and his influence on her own interior design work.

Rather than just show a bunch of images of Alaton’s work, she used my images of a project I photographed in 2010 along side the original project images published in Architectural Digest in 1984 to illustrate the timelessness of Alaton’s interiors. And she’s right. As I’ve said before here and here, the only way to decipher the age of great interior design and architecture is to look for stains in the upholstery or the presence of dated fixtures.

Ninebark Design Build in Dwell Again

Ninebark’s “garden pavilion” that I wrote about last Fall was featured this week on Dwell.com. I have a feeling that you’ll be reading more about Ninebark Design Build in the near future…

Dwell Magazine – November 2011

I’ve got a few photos in the new November 2011 issue of Dwell Magazine’s “Houses We Love” section. The project featured is the Ryan Mankoski designed floating home that I photographed almost two years ago.

Ninebark Design/Build has been busy doing some pretty cool stuff since. This past summer I met up with Ryan again to photograph this copper-clad detached studio:

Wall Street Journal: The Disappearing House

This weekend’s edition of The Wall Street Journal features my photographs of a beautiful new house on Orcas Island.

WSJ: The Disappearing House

The house was a collaboration between Heliotrope Architects and the owner – awesome interior designer Rysia Suchecka. While the weather was pretty yuck yuck, I did come away with some shots that I’m happy with and I had a great time. Rysia and her husband Jonathon are super cool and were wonderful hosts, treating me to a two course homemade lunch (and a little prosecco too! yum.)

The Winter 2011 Issue of Luxe Interiors + Design Magazine

I’ve got another nice photo spread in the new Winter 2011 issue of Luxe Interiors + Design magazine.

This project was a complete restoration/remodel of a gorgeous early 1900′s home in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood. Sutro Architects, Ryan Associates, and Kendall Wilkinson Interior Design collaborated with great success to bring the residence back to its former glory.

Hey wait….I just realized that I blogged about this shoot early last year. So I don’t need to bore you with all the details again.

Builder+Architect Magazine

The December 2010 issue of Builder+Architect Magazine is all about Seattle’s floating homes and features the Ryan Mankoski designed and Dyna Contracting built floating home that I photographed for them earlier this year.

I’ve also got a full page ad running on the inside cover of the magazine that I think turned out really nice. For this first iteration of the ad I wanted to keep things simple and let the image do the talking:

The Fall 2010 Issue of LUXE Interiors + Design Magazine

October 24th, 2010 § 4 comments § permalink

I’ve got a nice photo spread in the new Fall 2010 issue of the “Northwest” edition of LUXE Interiors + Design Magazine.

This is the cover of the issue. It's not my photo.

The project is an impressive downtown Seattle penthouse remodel done by interior designer Gregory Carmichael, architect Richard Sundberg and built by Schultz | Miller. It’s always interesting to see how others end up arranging and cropping your images for a layout. Often times a creative crop by a photo editor reveals a “new” image hidden within the original. I really like how they put it all together….

The issue is on the newsstands now. Be sure to pick up a copy and support the cause! ;-)
