The Spring 2012 Pacific Northwest edition of Luxe Interiors + Design Magazine is on newsstands now and features a lovely project on Lake Washington I photographed for Castanes Architects and NB Design Group. In addition to the 10 page spread, Luxe also ended up using one of my exterior images of the project for the cover of the magazine.

Idaho River House – Winter Edition

We had a good stretch of sunny skies for our shoot of a new residence in Idaho for architect George Suyama and interior designer Doug Rasar. While sunny, it was most definitely not warm and as I stood outside in the snow and 6 degree temperatures waiting for the good light I kept myself warm by chanting “thiswillbeworthitthiswillbeworthit…” And it was
. I’m looking forward to going back out there for some more shots of the project this Summer once the snow has melted.

Ninebark’s “garden pavilion” that I wrote about last Fall was featured this week on Dwell.com. I have a feeling that you’ll be reading more about Ninebark Design Build in the near future…

I’ve got a few photos in the new November 2011 issue of Dwell Magazine’s “Houses We Love” section. The project featured is the Ryan Mankoski designed floating home that I photographed almost two years ago.
Ninebark Design/Build has been busy doing some pretty cool stuff since. This past summer I met up with Ryan again to photograph this copper-clad detached studio:
Yakima Residence for Doug Rasar

Seattle’s “Bummer Summer” ho-hum blah-blah weather has been taking it’s toll on my emotional state so it was a treat to make the quick jaunt east over the mountains and in to the perpetual sunshine of beautiful Yakima Valley for two days to photograph an impressive remodel by interior designer Doug Rasar and architects Sullivan Conard and KDF.
The home is sited with views out over the Yakima Valley and the new landscaping features a massive water feature of large stepped reflecting pools that lead to gardens and outdoor patios.
The challenge was to capture the scale of the grand spaces while also maintaining the intimate feel of the smaller living areas.

Eric Cobb For Sale

Our recent spell of clear weather saw me returning to this interesting home for sale which I had originally photographed some time ago in the pouring rain. “The Gym” as it’s known, is the actual gymnasium of the old West Queen Anne School re-envisioned as a stunning modern private residence by Eric Cobb Architects.
Of particular awesomeness are the 15′ by 5′ steel pivot doors that lead out to the private patio areas.
Wall Street Journal: The Disappearing House

This weekend’s edition of The Wall Street Journal features my photographs of a beautiful new house on Orcas Island.
The house was a collaboration between Heliotrope Architects and the owner – awesome interior designer Rysia Suchecka. While the weather was pretty yuck yuck, I did come away with some shots that I’m happy with and I had a great time. Rysia and her husband Jonathon are super cool and were wonderful hosts, treating me to a two course homemade lunch (and a little prosecco too! yum.)
The Winter 2011 Issue of Luxe Interiors + Design Magazine

I’ve got another nice photo spread in the new Winter 2011 issue of Luxe Interiors + Design magazine.
This project was a complete restoration/remodel of a gorgeous early 1900′s home in San Francisco’s Pacific Heights neighborhood. Sutro Architects, Ryan Associates, and Kendall Wilkinson Interior Design collaborated with great success to bring the residence back to its former glory.
Hey wait….I just realized that I blogged about this shoot early last year. So I don’t need to bore you with all the details again.
